Lars Hansson, our implant specialist, and Holly Thomas, our denture specialist, were invited to join in a terrific opportunity for a 2 & ½ day program with Dr. Jack Turbyfill, the world renowned denture specialist. The event was hosted at The Chesapeake Dental Continuing Education Center in Maryland by Drs. Joe Passaro and Woody Wooddell. Drs. Passaro and Wooddell are two great restorative dentists and self described “continuing education junkies”. We’ve known and worked with both of them for years. This course teaches the Turbyfill method of preparing the diagnostic denture, instructions for the final denture, as well as a very informative section on 3D imaging. They even had a mobile 3D scanner. This mini office was inside a very impressive looking van, allowing the scanner to come to the patient.
“As a technician, I not only get a terrific course on fabricating dentures, but also some great insight on the clinical side of the process”
-Holly Thomas, Denture Specialist, Bay View Dental
Lars was an active participant and actually became part of the presentation team. When it comes to incorporating implants into a denture for a bar overdenture or locator overdenture case, you’d be hard pressed to find a better resource than our own Lars Hansson. He also helped Dr. Turbyfill in discussions involving CBCT scans and treatment planning.
The great thing about taking a course from Drs. Passaro & Wooddell is they’ve already taken many of the courses from almost every major learning center in the country. They are also both outstanding restorative dentists and really do practice what they teach on a daily basis. We believe so much in the program that we plan to co-host some of their courses here at The Mid-Atlantic Center next year.
